What is e-Adisyon and who must switch? The 2026 transition guide

e-Adisyon means that table-service food and drink businesses issue their table tickets electronically, in the standard set by GİB, instead of on paper. This guide pulls together the logic behind the scheme, who it covers and how to plan your transition — all in one place.

What is e-Adisyon and who must switch? The 2026 transition guide

The paper ticket has done the same job for decades: a table is opened, orders are added by hand, and when the bill is settled it turns into a receipt or an invoice. e-Adisyon does not change that flow — it changes the document. The ticket opened for the table is now created electronically, order lines are added electronically, and when the bill closes the document is completed electronically.

This newest member of the Turkish Revenue Administration's e-document family (e-Fatura, e-Arşiv, e-İrsaliye) is aimed squarely at table-service businesses: restaurants, lokantas, cafés, patisseries and bars. The goal is to reduce unregistered trade and close the gap between the table ticket and the till receipt.

Who does e-Adisyon cover?

The scheme targets businesses that are required to issue table tickets — that is, every food-and-drink format where guests are served at the table and pay afterwards. Self-service formats that take payment at the moment of ordering do not issue tickets, so they are not directly in scope.

  • Table-service restaurants and lokantas — the scheme's primary target.
  • The table-service areas of cafés and patisseries.
  • Bars, pubs and late-night venues running open tabs.
  • À la carte restaurants inside hotels and other non-room F&B outlets.
  • Fast-food and takeaway-led businesses are typically out of scope if they offer no table service.

What actually changes in practice?

On the operations side the good news is this: on a properly configured POS, e-Adisyon adds no new step to the server's workflow. The table is still opened on the POS, orders are still entered on the POS. The difference is in the background: every ticket is created electronically in the standard format, stored immutably, and linked to the e-document when the bill closes.

  1. 1When a table opens, the ticket is created electronically with a unique number.
  2. 2Every order line — additions, voids, comps — is written to the ticket with a timestamp.
  3. 3When the bill closes, the ticket is matched to the payment and the receipt or invoice issued.
  4. 4Documents are stored electronically; hunting for paper ticket stubs during an audit becomes history.

A transition plan for your business

The hard part of the transition is not the software — it is habit. We suggest three steps: first, write down your current ticket flow (who opens tables, who can void, who approves comps); then verify your POS's e-Adisyon support and its integrator connection; finally, give staff a short training session alongside a permissions matrix. In a system where voids and comps are all on the record, permission discipline matters more than the transition itself.

What we feared when we moved to e-Adisyon was slowing down. What actually happened was our end-of-day close dropping from half an hour to five minutes — because there was no longer any gap between the tickets and the till.

Is your POS ready?

e-Adisyon compliance is more than a checkbox: it requires a chain in which the ticket is born on the POS, flows from there to the kitchen, and links itself to the e-document at close. Dasvio POS builds that chain end to end — tables, orders, void-and-comp permissions, closing and reporting in one dashboard, designed to work in line with GİB regulations.
